The yellow rope loop from Bushmen is a good alternative to a metal carabiner. The Soft Shackle is lightweight, soft and hard to lose in bright yellow.
The yellow loop is well visible in the grass and on the forest floor. So you do not have to look for the camping accessories for a long time. This short rope with button is used instead of a conventional carabiner for hammock mounting. In doing so, you save weight and can wear the cord as a cool bracelet.
Yellow shackle instead of metal carabiner
Bushmen's soft shackle is made of three-millimeter-thick high-density nylon, and combined with the special weaving technique used to make it, it achieves a load capacity of 1020 kilograms (10 kn). With some prior knowledge, it can be used in many functions instead of a conventional carabiner, while being five times lighter than an aluminum carabiner and 10 times lighter than a steel carabiner. The shackle can replace the loops on the ends of a hammock, and the button on the end can be attached directly to the loop of a whoopie sling. To have the shackle always at hand, you can wear it, like a bracelet. The shackle length is 9 centimeters, the loop length measures 23 centimeters.
